It has been quoted many times as being fact that you make your mind up about somebody in about six seconds. That is, those first impressions do not only count but they are made quickly. It may be that in those first few seconds you think somebody is likeable, intelligent, someone you have a special spark with or the right person for the job. In all areas of your life, from relationships to employment, you cannot underestimate the importance of presentations. Engagement rings for example, say a lot about brides-to-be. Experts talk about what is known as the 4Cs which is referring to the cut, clarity, carat and colour of a diamond. If this ring is to be worn for a long time to come then it is part of how someone appears and it is important that it not only fits a woman's finger but also that it gives the desired impression. In the job market, it is not just the appearance of a candidate that will get them sat in the desired position.

Most bosses would admit that they make quite a few judgments before they actually meet a potential employee. If you have a spelling mistake on your CV or resume or cover letter then the chances are that it is not only going to be spotted but is going to count against you. In the competitive job market allowing anything to strike against you that can be easily prevented is foolhardy. You can go online to get your written work proofed by professionals. You may have scanned a document yourself but it is the trick of the mind that challenges even a strong eye for grammatical errors when you look over your own work. If a Romeo does not think clearly enough about which of the many engagement rings he wants to buy then he too is being foolhardy. He will want to remember the moment he proposes for the rest of his life and this means that he will want to create a good impression.

Hopefully, he has already gone part of the way or he would not be thinking that he might get a positive reaction. However, there is more than one bride who has been disappointed in either the ring itself or possibly in how it was presented. For this moment to become the best memory, the eyes of the bride-to- be need to light up on seeing a sparkling diamond which is especially for her. For a boss to even think about employing someone they need to be reassured that this person can read and write and does not have a sloppy attitude or lack attention and an eye for detail. It is not really rocket science but amazing how CVs and engagement rings and everything else in between are not always appreciated for giving one of the biggest impressions and leading to what can be potentially life-changing events.
